As we age, our bodies begin to reflect the ways we’ve moved over the years. Our muscles and joints are either fluid and pain free or they ache and hurt. We tend to restrict or modify our movements if we feel discomfort and pain. Keeping our musculoskeletal system in top working order is a preventive measure as important as the right diet and sleep.
The therapy that Deborah uses begins with a combination of Swedish massage, deep tissue, myofascial and Rolfing techniques to wake up the circulation and relieve stress. This is followed by sessions which focus on skeletal re-alignment using the Feldenkrais Method. She finds that this combination is a remarkably effective approach. Posture and balance improve, stress levels drop as you begin to move better, and many clients are able to resume exercising and moving at a more advanced level.
Deborah’s unique approach is particularly useful for:
- Acute low back spasm
- Chronic back pain
- Hip and shoulder pain
- Frozen shoulder
- Plantar fasciitis
- Post-operative joint replacement issues
- Neck tightness, spasm
- Rounded shoulder, stooped posture
- Improving sports/dance performance
